Abstract

This experiment was designed in order to verify the effect of two synthetic flavors on broiler performance. Three treatments were compared: 1 €” ration without supplementation; 2 €” ration supplemented with 400g of €œFiranor 631€, per metric ton; 3 €” ration supplemented with 750g of €œFiranor 25€, per metric ton. Statistical analysis did not show differences as to live weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion and rate of mortality that could be attributed to the treatments. However, the birds on treatment 2 (€œFiranor 631€) tended to consume more feed and to present more weight gain. It appears that the experimental diet was of good palatability thus dissimulating in some extent the action of the flavoring agents.
