Abstract

The mentioned forage grass, native from Togo, was introduced, on October 19th 1975, in the €œPresidente Medici€ Experimental Station €” Campus of Botucatu, Brazil After the observation of its culm, and after the analysis, its cultivation was started and as soon as the germinative power of its culm was available, they were replanted. As there was enough material available during the agricultural year of 1977/78, the first experimental station was settled, where it was possible to evaluate the botanic, agrostoogic, bromatologic and mineral characteristics.
