Feed restriction and enzyme supplementation after forced molting in broiler breeder

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to assess the effect of enzyme supplementation and three levels of daily feed intake €” 150, 149, 130 or 120g €” on postmott performance of Shaver broiler broiler hens. The layer ration contained 16.4% protein and 2.720 kcal ME/kg of diet. The experiment lasted eight periods of 28 days. Enzyme supplementation influenced only the fertility of the eggs. The birds that a daily feed intake of 130 g mantined egg production, egg weight, shell thickness and egg quality (HU) at the level presented by the ones fed with 150 g daily. Hens receiving 150g feed daily presented the poorest fertility (P ‰¤ 0.05). The best egg quality (HU) was observed in the birds receiving 120 g/day (P ‰¤ 0.05).
