Abstract

Twenty-four bullocks with about 24 months of age and 358kg of liveweight were used to compare three sugar cane based diets: A = fresh sugar cane (80%) + cottonseed meal (20%); 8 = fresh sugar cane (60%) + dried sugar cane bagasse (20%) + cottonseed meal (20%); and C = fresh sugar cane (40%) + dried sugar cane bagasse (40%) + cottonseed meal) (20%). Dry matter intakes (A = 1.6; B = 1.3; and C = 1.1 kg/100 kg LW), and daily liveweight gains (A = 0.781; 8 = 0.350 and C = €” 0.234 kg), were significantly decrease by decreasing the fresh sugar cane and increasing the dired sugar cane bagasse in the diets.
