Abstract

The experiment was carried out at the Estação Experimental of the Instituto de Zootecnia in Nova Odessa, São Paulo. It was studied the effect of the macro and micronutrients (B, Cu, Fe, Zn and Mn) on the concentrations of these nutrients on five stylo accession (S. humilis, S.hamata. S. guyanensis cvs. Schofield, Endeavour and Cook). The experiment was a abstractive one in randomized blocks with three replications. The soil used was a Quartzous sand with low content of nutrients brought from a cerrado vegetated region of São Paulo. The omission of phosphorus caused a decrease in the concentration of this element in all five stylos. The concentrations of Ca, Mg, Cu and Mn increased in all stilo accession studied, in the absence of potash fertilization and the concentration of K in the Schofield, Endeavour and Cook accessions. In the absence of lime, the potassium concentrations increased in the Humilis and Schofield a accession as well as manganese increased in all five accessions and Zn in four of them. The omission of the micronutrients (B. Cu, Zn and Fe) díd not affect the Ca, Mg, K and Mn concentrations of all five stylo accessions, mean while the omission of Mo the increased the P levels in the Hamata and Schofield stylos.
