Abstract

Although chalkbrood was described in the beginning of the XX century, only in the 70€˜s and 80€˜s it was widespread extended. In Brazil, chalkbrood was first described in 1997, in São Paulo State. This paper is a review of the etiopathogeny, epidemiology, control and prevention of this disease.
