Abstract

A randomized block design experiment was carried out studying four nitrogen fertilization levels and two kinds of forage (fresh and crushed). Biomass was harvested on April, 1994 with 60 days of vegetation. Forage crushing dryed out 3.5% of the plants juice increasing dry matter from 16.8 to 19.7%. This process it self decreased the soluble compounds and increased the insoluble ones.
