Sugar cane tops after burning and soybean crop residues for beef feed lot

Abstract

Forty eight Nelore steers with 26 months of age. weighting 352kg in average were confined during 112 days. They were randomized in four treatments or rations combining sugar cane tops after burning, soybean crop residues and Cotton seed meal in the following proportions: A = 65:350. 8 = 68:29:3, C 71:23:6 and D 74:18:8. Individual daily gain, per treatment, were respectively: A = 0.098; B = 0.320; C = 0.459 and D = 0.611kg. The dry matter consumed iii average per 100kg L.W. per day were respectively: A = 1.88; B = 1.94; C = 2.05 and D = 2.1 7kg. Statistical analysis detected a significant effect due to treatment or ration. when gain in weight was the parameter considered.
