Abstract

At the Animal Nutrition and Pasture Division. Nova Odessa (SP), is was carried out an experiment to test the effect of plant density on seed production of €œcolonião€ grass, Punicun muximum Jacq. The plants were in continuons rows 0,50 m apart or spaced 0,50 >< 0,50 m. The experiment was harvested in 3 different occasions to determine the best harvest time. There was no statistical difference between plant distances treatments as far as aparent seed yields is concerned the number of inflorescence per area was statistically greater for the spaced plants (0,5 m X 0,5 m). Around May, 19 was the best time for seed harvest.
