A comparison among six annual forages for roughage production

Abstract

The present experiment was developed at the Estação Experimental de Nova Odessa, of Instituto de Zootecnia, State of São Paulo. Six annual forages were cultivated in a randomized blook design with five replications: A) lab-lab (Macrotyloma lab-lab); B) vetch (Vicia sativa) C) rye (Cecale cereale) ; D) oat (Avena sativa) ; E) Sorghum vulgare var. sweet sioux and F) Sorghum vulgare var. Sart. The dry matter productions and percentages were determined and the most productive was Sorghum vulgare sweet sioux, follawed by lab-lab and Sorghum vulgare var. Sart.
