Abstract

The trial was carried out at the Unidade de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de Gália, APTA/SAA, in the 2003 year, with the purpose to evaluate the loss of water in branches of two mulberry cultivars (IZ 13/6 e IZ 40), managed under two forms (entire and chopped) and in different treatments frequency (two, three, four and five treatments). The experimental design was completely randomized, with the treatments in the factorial scheme (2x2x4) and four replications. Between the cultivars studied, the loss of water did not have significant variation as regards to loss of water. The chopped branches had lost less water. The loss of water diminished in the interval and increased in the total period, the measure that if increased the frequency of the treatment.
