Abstract

Twenty five castrated male were used in au experiment to evaluate the soybean toasted at 5 different exposition lengths of time at 115°C, as follows: 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes (Treatments A, B, C, D and E respectively). The experiment was conducted during 67 days and the initial and final average live weights were 28.88 ± 3.15 kg and 85.41 ±9.68 kg. The daily gain (P = 0.023), feed intake (P = 0.001) and feed/gain (P= 0.001) and dressing percent (P = 0.077) showed significative quadratic effect. The feed/gain showed a cubic effect and the backfat thickiness showed a linear effect.
