Abstract

The present paper is a summary of twenty-year data about the nectar flow in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo State (Latitude 22°57€™ S, Longitude 45°27€™ W and Altitude 560m). The method used in the evaluations was the one that weights the hives maintained on platform balances. The changes in the hive weight were periodically registered. It was possible to verify that the studied region presents two nectar flow periods in the year. The first, lasting from February to half May, is the most important; and the second one, from half July to September, is less intensive. The dearth periods occur from June lo half July and from October to January. The second one being more severe and extended. lt was also noticed that this situation remained practically unchangeable since the fírst survey was made in the region.
