Abstract

The experiment was carried-out at the Posto de Avaliação de Suínos de Piracicaba, of the instituto de Zootecnia, State of São Paulo, Brazil, during 1985, with the purpose to determine the viability of concentrate molasses in the feeding of growing. finishing swine. The factorial design (2 x 4) randomized blocks was used where the factors were: two saxes and four concentrate molasses levels. The results obtained demonstrated superiority from females upon castrated males in great number of carcass characteristics analysed. In the present trial, in general, there was no alteration on carcass and performance of growing-finishing swines.
