Abstract

For the last three decades, developed countries showed a significant concern about ethics for animal handling. In Brazil this subject starts to wake social interests. The worry about animal care and cruelty to them is a constant topic for protection society members. Several law and politics behavior had been adopted to protect animals as pets as livestock, creating commissions to protect animals, valorizing the animal well-fare for scientific and economic purposes. There still a lot to do in Brazil to achieve the high structure of the protection societies in developed countries, as their laws. This article had the purpose to discuss themes on bovine use, as livestock or for scientific research, approaching the moral and ethics aspects, during its productive phase, from birth to death at slaughter houses, at controlled environmental or in a clandestine way, which happens to be in a cruel and inhuman.
