Abstract

The objective of the present experiment was to evaluate the behaviour of Brachiaria humidicola seeds germinating under datterent temperaturas, acid and KNO3 (0.2%) treatments at 4 and 10 months after harvest. The best germination data were obtained when the seeds were germinated at 15-36°C alternated temperatures with KNO3(0.2%) applied on the germination substract. The acid scarification only showed some effect when the seeds were germinated in the abscence of KNO3 or when they germinated at 20-35°C alternated temperatura 4 months after harvest. The acid treatment showed a negative effect when the seeds were submited to germination tests 10 months after harvest.
