Abstract

The experiment was carried out at the Posto Experimental de Limeira, in the State of São Paulo. This work was made in order to test the effects of the molasses levels in addition to mulberry (Morus alba L.) leaves, for improvement diet used in the silkworm (Boinbyz mori L.) alimentation, on its growing. Four series of essays were employed, varying the molasses concentration in water solution. The experimental design was entirely randomized with four treatments and seven replications. One thousand a hundred and twenty eight crossbred silkworm larva were used, starting from forty newly hatching larva as experimental unit. By the statistical analysis of the final results we could conclud that: a) The addition of molasses was prejudicial to the larva, decreasing their weight in the first serie in 0.01499g per unity of molasses percent added and the third serie had followed a second degree equation crossing at a minimum point of 2.35% of added molasses; b) For cocoon there was a decrease of 0.00535g, 0.00788g, and 0.00461 g respectively in the 1st , 2nd 4th series for each unity of added molasses in percent of the correspondent serie.
