Abstract

An experiment was conducted using a corn soybean base diet fed as meal, wet or pellets to 30 landrace pigs (15 barrows, 15 gilts) from 20.4kg to 91.5kg. Experimental procedure was in randomized blocks with factorial design 3 x 2 (3 forms of diet x 2 sex) and 5 replications. After 84 days was observed no difference significantly among the diets form, both performance and carcass characteristics. Nonetheless, the barrows had higher (P < 0.05) weight gain and feed intake (P < 0.01) than gilts. The gilts had better (P < 0.0 5) feed/gain than barrows.
